Latte Art*

While flipping through television channels earlier today, I came across a very interesting show called "1000 places to see before you die" on show discovery channel. This episode was dedicated to Canada's best sights to visit and one of the sights was this well known cafe "Delany's Coffee House" that was exclusively famous & known for their latte art, bringing in professionals to create different artistic designs and techniques to appeal to coffee lovers and consumers. I found this very intriguing and loved to share with other coffee addicts. I really think it is amazing how you can create art out of absolutely anything, in this case simply MILK!

Above are a couple of pictures that caught my attention the most, for all coffee lovers enjoy these pictures and if you have the talent to do such a thing then pursue IT, its truly an amazing talent!!

Check out the video to see how latte art is made, just remember to ignore the music and enjoy (:!

Who'sThatGirl

free people september catalog

"Who's That Girl" is the September Lookbook sneak peak of this fall's Free People's store line. I just received this catalog in the mail a couple of days ago and I realized that not one image in the catalog was of a normal sized body type that reflected the "real" world. I realized the model appeared to be thinner than most of the models Free People typically feature. Advertising extremely skinny girls just sends the wrong idea to the targeted audience, especially teenagers in this generation that are experiencing many eating disorders. What I also realized is that the photos in the catalog make you believe that by shopping at their store and wearing their apparel you are living a specific lifestyle and are welcomed in a special cult. "Free People" are setting a bad image to their line with the photos having Kate Moss as their inspiration. Even though Kate Moss is known to be one of the best supermodels in the world and having a very successful line, she still has a very bad reputation with abusing drugs in order to keep her body in shape. Martha Fox, the model in the photo shoot clearly is posing like Kate Moss wearing the same style and having the same "heroine chic" look that Kate Moss is known for. Brand personality is very important for customers and I believe in influencing the good rather than bad through products and trying to help people rather than take them down the wrong road.

Julianna Baggott*

"We live with blinders on. We miss people who have things to teach us. I know i do. I know I'm so rushed and overwhelmed that I don't take the time to talk to people who might change me in some elemental way, for the better. And I don't mean those assigned to my case - in whatever way that can now be perceived. I mean the people you pass by. In fact, I think one of our greatest stupidities and, in some cases, sins is our ability as human beings to keep passing each other by." - Julianna Baggott
