Videos From The Brain*

I read the article "Videos From The Brain" and i was really shocked to see where technology is heading today. Just thinking of how someone can have that much power or access to somebody's brain and can visually see pictures of what they're thinking of by entering an fMRI machine is just unbelievable. The new (Fmri) machine that the Berkley research group have come up with scans your brain for images that you have seen once before between a given brain pattern and a given image while watching a movie correlating the images to the screen. The results that were conducted from this experiment is that a great amount of youtube video clips were traced (18,000 worth of random videos) back to the single image/pattern. You never know what kind of technology we will be faced with next, we will forever be surprised by the outcomes. Reading the last paragraph on how this technology might be used is scary, being able to read someone's mind or erasing someone's memory. The advantage i guess would be recording people's dreams, that way you could analyze them and look back at them even though dreams last 3-7 seconds.
